Manx Heart Support Group Information

The Manx Heart Support Group was established in October  1994 prior to the setting up of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Service at Nobles Hospital. The aim of the group is to provide advice and support to anyone with cardiac related problems e.g. angina , heart attack , bypass surgery, pacemakers etc   and their families /carers/friends.

The group is a registered charity and affiliated to the British Heart Foundation. Any donations received by the group stay on the island and have been used to purchase equipment for areas such as Coronary Care , Cardiac Rehabilitation , Resuscitation Training , In flight Service at Nobles Hospital and training equipment for Heartstart Isle of Man . The Group was also among the first to provide public access defibrillators on the island , providing defibrillators and training for Ronaldsway Airport & Fire Service , Steam Packet Building , National Sports Centre and swimming pools on the island and training defibrillator for Heartstart Isle of Man.

Heartstart Isle of Man is an organisation we are closely affliated to and which provides Basic Life Support training for the general population. The Manx Heart Support Group participates in this training usually once a year.

Some members of the group have been with us for several  years others find perhaps they receive the advice /support they need after a few meetings or prefer just to have contact via the phone , there is no set rules for how long or short a time one feels in the need of the group , and a person is always welcome to return if required.
